As some of you may know, the next big jump in Moodle design and functionality - Moodle 2.0 - has been in development for more than two years. It is a very big jump forward and will be a *Major* upgrade for existing clients.
The first "preview" release (effectively a Beta test release) has been out a couple of weeks now and we are following it closely. The first full production release of Moodle 2.0 is due to be released some time in July (we are betting towards the end of July). Once it is out for real, we will start providing it for new clients that ask for it, but will also provide Moodle 1.9.x upon request, as 2.0 is such a large change from the 1.9.x branch, and is so new, some clients may decide to wait a little while, before committing to the new release. Existing clients on 1.9.x can ask for an upgrade, but please be aware that the upgrade process is likely to take quite a long time because of the major internal changes in Moodle, and you will then need to start learning all the new features and ways of working. We would not recommend adopting Moodle 2.0 for your organisation until you have familiarised yourself with the new features, and until it has been out a while and proved stable.
We are already working on Moodle 2.0 training material, and will start to offer 2.0 Admin and Teacher training once our material is ready. We can also offer small 2.0 test sites for training purposes for a small fee.
